1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how proximityplumbing.com.au (the "Site") uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, local storage and software development kits) and the choices you have. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences, measure how it is used, and show you relevant advertising on other sites. Some are set by us ("first-party") and some by services we use ("third-party"). "Session" cookies expire when you close your browser; "persistent" cookies remain for a set period.

3. The cookies we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the Site to work: page loading, security, load balancing, form submission and the online booking widget. These cannot be switched off through our banner; you can block them in your browser but parts of the Site may not function.

Analytics and performance

Help us understand how visitors use the Site (which pages are read, where people drop off, which suburbs enquire most) so we can improve it. Data is aggregated and does not identify you by name.

Call tracking

Our call-tracking provider swaps the phone number shown on the Site depending on how you arrived (Google search, Google Ads, Meta, direct). A cookie remembers that source so that if you call, we know which channel brought you to us. This does not track your browsing on other websites.

Advertising and remarketing

Allow us and our advertising partners to measure whether our ads work and to show Proximity ads to people who have visited the Site. These partners may combine this with information from your accounts with them and from other sites.

Functional and embedded content

Set when you use embedded features such as Google Maps, YouTube videos, Google reviews widgets or social-media buttons. The third party may set its own cookies when you interact with the embed.

4. Your choices

Cookie banner. On your first visit you can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose by category. Change your preference at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the Site footer.

Browser settings. Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies: see the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Blocking all cookies may stop the booking form and some pages from working.

Opt out of advertising:

• Industry opt-out: youronlinechoices.com.au

Do Not Track. Our Site honours the consent choice you make in our banner. Browser "Do Not Track" signals are not currently a reliable standard and are not separately acted on.

5. Email and SMS tracking

Emails we send may contain a small image or link that tells us whether the email was opened or clicked. You can prevent this by disabling images in your email client or by unsubscribing. SMS messages are not tracked beyond delivery confirmation.

6. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the tools we use change. The list above is reviewed at least every six months; the current version is always at proximityplumbing.com.au/cookie-policy/.
